Transforming Narratives launches tender for international cultural leadership programme

Culture Central is seeking a supplier to design and deliver a Cultural Leadership Programme, as part of Transforming Narratives.

The successful organisation/consortium will work with an international cohort of emerging and mid-career leaders from Birmingham, Pakistan and Bangladesh during 2020.

The Cultural Leadership programme aims to improve the skills and confidence of young creative producers from Birmingham, Pakistan and Bangladesh, through a bespoke learning programme including residencies and international exchange.

The successful organisation/consortium will also have experience of delivering leadership development to a diverse group of people, with understanding of the social, political and cultural nuances for artists, leaders and communities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Birmingham diaspora.

Transforming Narratives is a ground-breaking project to establish Birmingham as a leading international centre for contemporary Pakistani and Bangladeshi arts, for the mutual benefit of Birmingham and cities in Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is supported by Arts Council England and delivered by Culture Central in association with The British Council. 

The budget for the programme is up to £20,000 plus VAT and the deadline for proposals: 30 November 2019 at 5pm.


Timetable:

  • Deadline for tenders 30 November
  • Training provider appointed by 13 December
  • Programme advertised on 19 December
  • Deadline for applications 16 January
  • Week beginning 20 January: recruitment workshops in Birmingham, Pakistan and Bangladesh
  • Year 1 programme starts early February (6 training days + one week residential
