Trailer released of short film showcasing Transforming Narratives Digital Collaborations Programme

Transforming Narratives has released the trailer to an uplifting and stirring short film, which is the culmination of its Digital Collaborations Programme that took place during the first 12 months of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film documents 17 online projects that connected more than 100 creative individuals and groups in Birmingham, Bangladesh and Pakistan through mediums such as film, music, podcasts, photography, visual arts, crafts and dance.

The Digital Collaborations Programme was a response to COVID-19 being declared a pandemic in March 2020. This meant that Transforming Narratives had to cancel travel plans for its international exchanges and instead we allocated £75,000 to initiate new online collaborations.

The results are now captured in a film directed by Birmingham artist, Amrit Singh, who also took part in the programme as part of CollaborArtists, and is testimony to the adaptability and creativity of the artists and the unbreakable human spirit in times of profound upheaval.

The entire Digital Collaborations Showcase film will be released on Tuesday 29 June.
